I can't think of what to put next. So far, I've got this for it ... (warning - gonna be about my longest post ever)
Chapter 1
The killing was one of the most horrible, brutal things I've seen in my life. A man with light-blond hair lay slumped up against a wall, grotesquely mutilated: his arms were partially skinned, his eyes were bulging out of their sockets, around his neck were sixty-three heart-shaped markings, and he was cut open, his heart missing.
One of the most horrible things of all at the crime scene, however, was a message scrawled in the poor soul's blood:
"I KILLED HIM WITH WHAT HE DOESN'T HAVE."
Hm, I thought, staring at the message, what could that mean?
Simply looking at this atrocity made me feel sick to the stomach.
As I stood in front of the chilling message, trying to decipher its meaning, I heard a voice calling me.
"Ian," an officer instructed, "go check the rest of the house. The killer may still be inside. Gabe, go with him. He may need some backup."
I walked up the stairs, with Gabe in tow. No lights were on, and it was dark, so I tried to turn one on, but it didn't work.
I had turned on my flashlight and continued through the halls, when a loud thumping sound came from downstairs.
"What the hell was that?" Gabe said, startled.
"I don't know," I replied, "but stay here. I'm gonna go check the basement."
I went back downstairs, and into the basement. Something wasn't right here. I could just feel it.
As I searched around, I found a necklace adorned with sixty-three heart shapes. Could this be ... what that message meant? I wondered.
When I turned around, I saw a man holding a steel pipe in his hand, holding it threateningly at me.
"Drop the weapon!" I exclaimed, pointing my gun at him.
Too late for that. He had opted for rushing me. Next thing I knew he'd bashed me in the back of my head, and it all went dark.
I woke up to find myself tied down to a chair. There was a man in front of me, wearing a black trench coat and a creepy looking mask that resembled a mannequin's face. He held a hunting knife to my throat.
"Rise and shine, Ian," insanity thick in his voice.
"Who the fuck are you?" I demanded, "And how do you know my name?"
"Oh, questions, questions, you probably deserve some answers now, don't you, detective? Well, are THESE good enough answers?"
Right then, he slashed me on both arms. It felt like liquid fire, and my blood burned. I wanted to scream, but I couldn't.
Then, he untied the ropes binding me to the chair, and pointed towards an open window. "Go," he told me, "and if you tell a single person about this, you'll be speeding up your death."
As quick as I could, I crawled out the window, got in my car, slammed on the gas, and drove away. I only looked back once to see my attacker crawling out of the same window he told me to exit.
Why did he spare me? I thought.
When I got to my apartment, I rushed in as fast as I could. I ran into the bathroom to treat my wounds.
I opened the cabinet behind the mirror, got some gauze and alcohol, poured the alcohol into the cuts, and wrapped the gauze bandage around them.
As I stared at the mirror in horror, I started to feel like there was something terrible happening to me. I was feeling sick. The bandage ripped itself, and my face just started warping. My skin was turning a dark green, and multiple slimy tentacles replaced my mouth area, my arms became long and snake-like, my hands turned into claws. I looked like something out of a nightmare.
Then, just as I was staring into the mirror at the nightmarish monster I had become, several shadowy figures surrounded me. At the very next moment, they had all dug their claws into my skin, and tore my flesh, piece by piece.
Chapter 2
Suddenly, I found myself standing in front of the mirror again, without slime-dripping tentacles, dark green skin, or anything surreal as I had a moment ago.Was it just a hallucination?
I left the bathroom to check the time. 12 am. "Better get to sleep," I told myself.
A few hours later, I was woke up by a knock on my door. When I opened the door, nobody was there. Instead, there was a package laying on the floor. I picked it up and took it inside.
Remembering my attacker's threat, I called in sick. After calling in sick, I opened the package to see what was in it.
It was a videotape. I put the tape into the VCR.
The tape showed a man with light blond hair, in a familiar-looking room. My god -- it was the house the man was killed in last night, and that man was the victim! Then it showed another man walking in, wearing a black trench coat. He pulled a rope-like object out of his pockets, and wrapped it around the blond haired man's neck.
When the poor guy finally ran out of breath, the killer took out a knife and peeled the skin from his arms, then cut him open and removed his heart. Last, he faced the camera, revealing that disturbing mannequin face/mask I'd seen the night before, and said, "There will be more."
By now, I felt like I was going to faint. This was the first time I've seen an actual killing, and one on tape for that matter. Almost even worse than any of the murders I've seen. I looked down and saw a pool of blood at my feet. The TV started "snowing," and the lights started to flicker until they completely burnt out. I stood there in complete darkness.
Then, I felt something wrapping around me, and pulling me up into the air. The lights turned back on to reveal a creature not unlike the nightmarish being I turned into during my hallucination earlier, and I was in midair, wrapped up by its tentacles, both from the mouth and the arms. I looked down and saw that I was covered in green slime. But there was something else about the slime. It felt like it was ... burning me. Surrounding the monster were several shadowy figures, also much like the ones from my hallucination. It forced me to look into its eyes, and as I did, I felt like I was on the brink of insanity. I closed my eyes shut tight, and opened them again.
Once more, everything was normal. Just another hallucination.
Even though everything was back to normal again, for now, something still wasn't right. I could feel some sort of evil presence breathing down my neck. Wherever I walked, it followed. I decided to stay in my apartment for the rest of the day.
Something stopped me from wanting to track down the killer. Despite the horrible atrocity that he committed, I just felt like something would go wrong if I tracked him down. Something far worse than the hallucinations. And the words of the maniac just echoed tauntingly through my head, There will be more.
Chapter 3
I couldn't sleep that night. Not after the hallucinations or that terrible videotape. I went to the cupboard to get some pills so that I could sleep. When I looked inside the bottle, it was empty. "Shit!" I said aloud, "I can remember that there were pills in the bottle. Did someone dump them? Could it have been ...?" I shuddered at the thought of that psycho having broken into my house. So, I tried to get to sleep the best I could, though I knew that it would probably take a while.
The next morning, I went back to work. At work, the chief had asked me where I went, and what had happened to me the other night.
I told him that I just had to go back home, and that I had some other business to attend to.
He replied, "Alright. Well, I want you to work on this case. We've got a city in shock over this murder, and we need to catch the guy who did this before there's more."
"Okay. I'll get to it as soon as possible."
As I started to walk off to get to work, the chief said, "Ian, try looking at the crime scene. You may find some clues nearby it."
I drove off to the house where the victim was killed, and walked inside. I stopped for a moment, and thought. Maybe there was something for me in the basement? I went to go check it out, and looked around for the chair that the killer had tied me to the other night. When I found it, there was some paper nearby. I picked it up, and it looked to me like a map.
On a circled area of the map was scrawled in red, "YOU ARE HERE." A line pointed to a drawn building, and it said, "GO HERE, IF YOU WISH TO SPEED UP YOUR DEMISE." I decided I'd take the risk of "speeding up my demise" and go where the map said to. If it meant catching this guy before he could claim anymore lives like he said he would, I'd go. Hopefully, it'd also put an end to the bizarre hallucinations I'd been having.
The building wasn't too far away, and it looked abandoned. I knew this place.
... and after that, I can come up with ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. As in, I can't come up with how he recognizes the place. I'm thinking an old department store (since there's gonna be a mannequin), but that'd kinda be ripping off one of my inspirations. Any suggestions?

Overall, fun game. Worth the $19. Not very scary, but still a good game.
0 comments | Log in to comment! | Share this!Okay, I bought Exmortis 3, and I'm a little stuck on the chapter "Exposure." I'm in the part after Mr Hannay's little hallucination, in the area with the lever and the cabinet puzzle. I click the lever, but it just goes back up. And I'm worried what the cabinet puzzle may have in store for me. The walkthrough isn't even that specific on puzzles, so yeah. Help, please!
1 comment | Log in to comment! | Share this!School started yesterday, and I'm not even able to talk to my friend (from entry #2) so far. I miss the junior high; it's less populated, less boring, and I could speak to her (my friend) more often.
Please, I really don't want this shit happening all over again ...

But, one major problem: I'm stuck. Anyone got a walkthrough (in text)?
3 comments | Log in to comment! | Share this!Just a little stressed from that puzzle in VTMB. I know, HOSTILEINTENT, that sounds like more proof I have no life. But I do, but I'm not a misanthrope over being unable to get past it, so FUCK YA VERY MUCH! ;)
